Manchester Animal Action campaigns locally against all forms of animal abuse. These activities can range from promoting veganism to holding demonstrations against animal circuses to travelling to larger national events and all stops inbetween.

We meet the first Monday of each month to discuss our plans and activities for the month. New members and ideas always welcomed.

7:30 pm at Fuel Cafe, 448 Wilmslow Road, Withington, M20 3BW.

Keep checking this site for details of those actvities or ring the MAA phone – 07809 293370.

Circuses & Zoos

We are opposed to all forms of keeping animals in captivity and we demonstrate regularly against circuses and zoos.

Factory Farming

The farming of animals for food is the most widespread form of animal abuse. We actively promote the vegetarian/vegan diet as the best way to eliminate animal cruelty from your lifestyle.

Fur

The fur trade is responsible for the deaths of over 50 million animals every year. We campaign actively against fur and hold regular protests outside shops selling fur in the region.

Gambling

The gambling industry causes suffering and death to thousands of animals each year. MAA demonstrate against this.
Even on our own doorstep here in Manchester we have Belle Vue greyhound stadium to contend with.

Hunting

We are against all forms of bloodsports. We protest locally against hunting in the North West.
Members of MAA also will regularly monitor hunts with the NWHSA.

Vivisection

We are opposed to all animal experimentation on both ethical and scientific grounds. We actively campaign locally and nationally against vivisection and support the ongoing campaigns to close down vivisection laboratories and animal suppliers.
Cruelty free products - If you are opposed to animal experiments then the main thing to do is to cut animal tested products out of your life. It is a myth that animal tested products are more difficult or expensive to buy than non animal tested ones.
